How to Solve Mini Meta Crosswords

A set of Mini Meta crosswords is made up of at least six puzzles. For each of the first crosswords, one of the entries serves as one part of a multiple-part clue, in order. The answer to that clue is a word or phrase (at least five letters long) hidden within the last mini crossword. The hidden answer may start in any square in that crossword, and will be found snaking through the grid, moving horizontally and vertically (but not diagonally) without revisiting any squares.
For instance, say you’ve just solved the six grids in a Mini Meta set and the first five grids look like this:

Look for words that are related and could flow together or connect other words together. Be flexible and keep trying even if your first idea doesn’t work out! There are two proper nouns in the fourth and fifth grids: PAUL and SIMON. PAUL, SIMON, and MUSIC all go together so the phrase might look like this:

Now that we know the clue is MUSIC GENRE FOR PAUL SIMON we can look at the final crossword to try and solve the puzzle! In this case, the answer is FOLK-ROCK.

Your goal is to fill up the 4×4 grid with numbers 1-4. Each column and row must have exactly one of each number, just like in sudoku. Each box (an area outlined with thick black lines) has a target number and a mathematical operation listed in the top-left corner. The numbers within the box must result in the target number when the mathematical operation is employed. For example, a box with 3+ could be satisfied with 1 and 2, as 1+2=3. Similarly, a box with 2÷ could be satisfied with either (1,2) or (2,4), as 2÷1=2 and 4÷2=2.
