Chaitra Kandarpa, neuroscience freshman:
“My resolution was to learn to take care of myself better and I’ve been making an effort to regularly go to the gym and eat healthy,” Kandarpa said.
Falak Hasen, biology freshman:
“I worked out almost every day during winter break in January so now I need to find something that fits into my college schedule,” Hasan said. “I haven’t started this back up yet but I’ve been building a routine.”
“I want to build a study schedule since one habit that I’ve carried over from high school is cramming at the last second,” Hasan said. “I want to try to finish my homework ahead of time so I can leave the weekend or some days during the week to study for specific subjects that I’m struggling on. One thing I also wanted to do was study more for chemistry because I wanted to get a better grade this semester. I’ve definitely been doing better this year and I understand things better than I did last semester.”
“I wanted to get back into reading and I’ve started two new books,” Hasan said. “One of them was Dune and the other one was a historical fiction novel. I also wanted to read the Foundation trilogy because I really liked the series and I’m really into science fiction.”
Srinidhi Marrivada, computer science freshman:
“I wanted to prioritize myself more,” Marrivada said. “I’ve started setting boundaries – like if I can’t make it to something, it’s better for me to say no.”
“Less procrastination is one of my goals,” Marrivada said. “I leave everything for two days or sometimes even one day before the assignment is due which is not fun. Also, actually opening the textbook is one of my goals because I did that before finals week (last semester) and I realized that it’s actually useful so I’m going through it now.”
“I’ve scheduled at least an hour every day where I have to sit in the library,” Marrivada said. “Being surrounded by everybody doing work peer pressures me.”
“I have been meaning to reread Percy Jackson since the series started coming out,” Marrivada said. “I haven’t been able to read lately but I want to finish it by the time summer ends.”
